Joint Points: Java & GC

You will learn how a Java application and a garbage collector (GC) get along with each other. At the beginning of the talk we will cover technics that allow to organize Stop-the-World GC mode. Later, we will transit to the base of concurrent collectors — barriers. Where do they come from? What kinds exist? How much do they cost? To summarize, we will compare the discussed approaches.
