15 Years of Kotlin: A Retrospective

Almost 15 years ago, in July 2011, the Kotlin programming language project was unveiled to the public. At the time, it was a bold decision, which eventually led to the emergence of a language with millions of users worldwide and a firm place among the most popular languages. In this talk, we’ll look back at how it all began and how Kotlin has evolved over the years. We’ll discuss which decisions proved successful, where mistakes were made, and try to look ahead to the future: what is next for Kotlin?
